But the ski jumping world cup event the weekend before Christmas<br \/>\nhas become an annual event during the years. Since Alpine Legends like events in leaning<br \/>\nterrain we thought we had to go and check it out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc_0034\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4180\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0034-404x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_0034\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The weather couldn\u00b4t be much better and even if the Swiss hope Simon Ammann didn\u00b4t<br \/>\nmanage to win we still had a great time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc_0041\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4181\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0041-404x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_0041\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4181\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As usual we don\u00b4t settle for normal tickets for these kind of events. Our favorite tourist<br \/>\ndirector, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric F\u00fcssenich set us up with VIP-tickets in the brand new Eagle Nest just<br \/>\nnext to the landing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc_0045\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4182\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0045-404x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_0045\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4182\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not only did we have the best seats, we could also eat as much cheese fondue and drink<br \/>\nas much white wine as we wanted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc_0035\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4183\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0035-404x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_0035\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4183\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Me and Moni also enjoyed a couple of perfectly mixed Zwetschgens far above the normal<br \/>\nnoisy crowd.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc_0037\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4184\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0037-404x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_0037\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4184\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In between the eating and drinking we actually managed to see some ski jumping as<br \/>\nwell<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc_0067\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4187\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0067-404x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_0067\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4187\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The crowd went crazy when the Swiss ski jumpers were flying<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc_0050\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4188\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0050-404x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_0050\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are not too many lifts to choose from in Engelberg, but I can bet 100 CHF that you<br \/>\nhave never been riding this one<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc04412\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4189\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04412-404x303.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC04412\" width=\"404\" height=\"303\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4189\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u00b4t matter where you go in Switzerland, there is always a strange live band trying<br \/>\nto play louder and worse than anything you have ever heard before<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2010\/12\/engelberg-ski-jumping\/dsc04436\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4190\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC04436-404x303.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC04436\" width=\"404\" height=\"303\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After this long competition we didn\u00b4t have that much energy left, but we still managed<br \/>\nto have an after ski jumping session in Ski Lodge and a fantastic dinner at the new Wasserfall<br \/>\nrestaurant before jumping in bed.<\/p>\n<p>KEEP JUMPING<\/p>\n<p>Johan<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Engelberg is not known\u00a0for hosting too many world cup events during the winter in the alpine disciplines.
