I was here three years<br \/>\nago investigating the ski touring and freeride possibilities, but then a cold March snow-<br \/>\nstorm limited my expedition. This time the sun was shining on the northern shores.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6576\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2012\/05\/icelandic-top-meeting\/img_2715\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6576\" title=\"IMG_2715\" src=\"https:\/\/alpinelegends.se\/wordpress\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_2715-404x301.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"404\" height=\"301\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We met up with our local legends, Marino and Finn\u00f9r, who provides heliskiing, snow<br \/>\nmobiles and packages and knows the secret spots. We went for the nice slopes on<br \/>\nthe photo above.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6579\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2012\/05\/icelandic-top-meeting\/img_2678\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6579\" title=\"IMG_2678\" src=\"https:\/\/alpinelegends.se\/wordpress\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_2678-404x258.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"404\" height=\"258\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our guide Pontus unloading the snow mobile on the favorite peak of today, at 800 meters.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6580\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2012\/05\/icelandic-top-meeting\/img_2679\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6580\" title=\"IMG_2679\" src=\"https:\/\/alpinelegends.se\/wordpress\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_2679-404x267.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"404\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pontus heading for the steepest run for today, the tricky coloir leaned about 45 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6581\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2012\/05\/icelandic-top-meeting\/img_2680\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6581\" title=\"IMG_2680\" src=\"https:\/\/alpinelegends.se\/wordpress\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_2680-404x231.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"404\" height=\"231\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The best part of the skiing is the vaste faces without obstacles and space for big turns.<br \/>\nWe had 10 cm of fresh pow on the top but as the weather quickly changed, as it most<br \/>\noften do here, we got some spring snow at the end of the day. We made 8 nice runs<br \/>\nwith between 500 and 700 fall meters each. The snow mobiles quickly pull you up to<br \/>\nnext run. Cannot wait to bring a group here!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2012\/05\/icelandic-top-meeting\/img_2693\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6584\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alpinelegends.se\/wordpress\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_2693-404x238.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"IMG_2693\" width=\"404\" height=\"238\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6584\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After a great day of fun skiing in a new and inspiring alpine environment, with the<br \/>\nimpressive Atlantic Ocean just by the end of your runs, we went for a really late<br \/>\nlunch in the harbour, fresh lobster soup coming up! The second best thing about<br \/>\nIceland is the food. Amazing cuisine in the middle of the ocean. Then it was time<br \/>\nto hit the road back towards Reykjavik area again.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinelegends.se\/blogg\/2012\/05\/icelandic-top-meeting\/bild3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6585\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alpinelegends.se\/wordpress\/uploads\/2012\/05\/bild3-404x235.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"bild3\" width=\"404\" height=\"235\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6585\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When our group arrived we had horseback riding, snorkeling and river rafting on the<br \/>\nprogram, not bad at all. As long as you can finish off with a swim in a hot pot. And some<br \/>\ncrazy good party in Reykjavik between the conference sessions!
